FORMULA ONE IN ABU DHABI

So, here we are at the end of the season in Abu Dhabi again. It is a beautiful track, but the race wasn't that exciting even though there were some high points. Nico Rosberg was the winner again. This is his third race in row that he has won. If I was a betting man I would have made some money. I bet that after his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, had won the championship. Speaking of Hamilton, he came in second. I am happy to report that Kimi Raikkonen came in third and as we know they are going to continue his services at Ferrari next year.

Other than the high point of Raikkonen coming in third was that Vettel went from 16th to 4th. Perez got a very solid 5th.

Hulkenburg came in 7th and Massa came in 8th.

A new season starts in March and over the winter months Formula E will have a few races.

COULD NOT HAPPEN TO A BETTER GUY

One of my favorites in Formula One these last few years has made a dent in World Endurance racing. Over the weekend he won the series World Championship which was held in Bahrain. I am talking about none other than Mark Webber. I am happy to see it happen.

I HATE WHEN THIS HAPPENS

A facility in Harrison Township, Ohio, near Dayton, belonging to America’s Packard Museum was lost to fire overnight along with an unknown number of classic cars contained inside.
“We never could count. We just knew there’s a ton of cars in that building,” Harrison Twp. Fire Battalion Chief Darrin Wiseman.
America’s Packard Museum is not to be confused with the National Packard Museum, which is located in Warren, Ohio, the birthplace of Packard Motor Car Company.
America’s Packard Museum operates from a restored Packard dealership in the city of Dayton. It appears that the Harrison Township facility, approximately five miles north of the museum itself, may have been used for restoration of display vehicles. The museum website also indicates that it has “one of the largest collections [of Packard parts] anywhere” which it offers for sale.
UPDATE (19.November 2015): Investigation into the origins and extent of the fire is still ongoing, but it appears some vehicles were saved from the fire. Reports are that the fire was a result of human activity in an unsecured portion of the warehouse, possibly vandalism.

FORMULA ONE IN BRAZIL

I really like this track and over the years there have been some very exciting races here. This wasn't one of them. Nico Rosberg came in first and I suspect that he will win again in two weeks at the last race of the season. Second went to the new champion, Lewis Hamilton, and third went to Sebastian Vettel. These three have become the usual suspects.

Nico Hulkenburg had a good even race and came in 6th. Massa came in 8th. No incidents.

GEORGE BARRIS..........1925 - 2015

What American male from five to 105 doesn't know of George Barris, the Kustom King. When we were all young he was neck deep into custom cars. Setting the trend that would last for years. He built cars for the stars, cars for the movies, cars for the other rich and famous. I didn't always like his stuff, but he sure knew how to make money at it. He created the Batmobile for Batman, the Munster car for The Munster's and the car used by the Beverly Hillbillies. His cars are bringing top dollar in the auction circuit with the Batmobile being sold for $4,200,000 recently. Thats not chicken feed.
