BRYAN CLAUSON......1989 - 2016
The racing community continues to grieve following the untimely death of Bryan Clauson, eight-time champion in various USAC racing series. But at least his family can take solace in knowing he helped save lives. Clauson died Sunday night following a crash in Saturday’s Belleville Midget Nationals, but in many ways his spirit lives on. The 27-year-old was an organ donor, which helped save five lives, according to a family statement released via Twitter on Wednesday. Below is the statement in full. Clauson was trying to compete in 200 races this season, and had already completed 116 at the time of his death. Of those races, the former NASCAR and IndyCar driver won 27 of them.
