It has to happen once in a while that these auction houses get bought out or merge with other auction houses. In the last few years there have been quite a few. Several years ago I read that Mit Romney's company, Bain Capital, was trying to buy Bonhams. I didn't really think that it was available and as years went on I felt it all the more. Here we go, an investment company called Epiris from England. Bonhams has been around, mostly under the same ownership, since 1793. Yes, I said, 1793. Bonhams has to be the largest auction house in the world. With auctions and offices all around the world. I hope that they do well and not just strip the company and disappear into the sunset.
