MOSTLY SMILING
Still doing a fantastic job, Lewis Hamilton won the United States Grand Prix leaving his team mate to come in second. It will be interesting to see how Hamilton does through the other 2/3 of the season. He is setting records.
Overall winners of the 2007 Le Mans 24 Hour Race. Pirro, Biela and Werner driving an Audi R10 Diesel. Yes, folks, a diesel again. Parts of the race were done in the rain. It seems to me like it always rains there. That probably isn't true, it is just that I remember it that way.
How did my personal picks do? Let's have a look. In the LMP1 class Team Peugeot Total with the car piloted by Nicolas Minassian, Jacques Villeneuve and Marc Gene. A diesel powered 5.5 litre V-12 turbo had to drop out after a great effort running very close to the front and completing almost the whole race....338 laps.
LMP2 class entry by Barazi-Epsilon/Zytec Engineering and driven by Adrian Fernandez, Haruki Kurosawa and Robbie Kerr. 3.4 litre V-8 came in second place for the class.
GT1, I picked Corvette Racing with a Chevy 7 litre V-8. Driven by Oliver Gavin, Olivier Beretta and Max Papis. While their other team car came in 6th overall this car didn't do so well. Out of the picture after 22 laps.
GT2, I picked either car from Team LNT. One was 23rd overall and the other was out after 60 laps.
