INDYCAR IN CALIFORNIA

HELIO CASTRONEVES-2ND, ROGER PENSKE-OWNER, WILL POWER-1ST, RYAN BRISCOE-3RD

Roger Penske is a happy man. His team came in 1-2-3 for the first time since 1994. A decent race at a beautiful track in Sonoma, California. Very few cars were counted as out so they had almost a full field at the end. There were three substitute drivers filling in for two injured drivers and for Simona di Silvestro who was not allowed back in the country after a visit home in Switzerland. That is a load of crap and I sure want to find out more about that. You could see what racing is up against in this rough economic time. The stands were empty as they are at all races in Indycar and Formula One. It has been this way for three years and television does such a good job most people feel 'why go.' But this is the first time I have ever heard announcers make mention of it. Can racing last? Formula One has 600 million viewers, but the stands are empty.....except for China. Next week a new race on the Streets of Baltimore.
