SPECIAL OF THE WEEK

1976 BRICKLIN

Selling a beautiful Corvette Yellow 1976 model, modified engine, car was originally a Suntan color also purchased directly from the factory. Their cars were made in very limited numbers and are only getting harder to find. The car runs and drives with absolutely zero problems. The interior and exterior are also in amazing shape. It's always been garaged and has had no rust or repairs,

Motor is a Ford Windsor 351 and a full tune up was just performed on the car. All new fluids and gaskets so this car are ready to be driven wherever. Always kept up to date on maintenance you'll have a hard time finding a cleaner Bricklin. It 86,341 miles and an automatic transmission as well as a clean title. It also has air conditioning which is still functional.

FORMULA E IN ENGLAND - RACE TWO

SAM BIRD

Stephane Sarrazin was the winner, but was given a 49 second penalty for excessive energy usage. A very heavy penalty for something that makes no sense to me. I really need someone to explain to me why excessive energy use is a problem. Taking over in first place was Sam Bird. Second went to
Jerome d'Ambrosio came in second with Loic Duval in third. The new season will start quicker than you can blink an eye, until them no more whining, whirling, squawking, screeching of these electrics. Obviously I still have a hard time getting used to the sound or should I say the lack of it.

NELSON PIQUET - THE WORLD CHAMPION OF FORMULA E

In this final race of the season, Nelson Piquet came in seventh, but that was good enough to give him that championship title by one point.

INDYCAR IN CALIFORNIA

I sure don't know why I never liked ovals in the past because they really leave biting your nails on the edge of your seat. This race sure didn't end up like I thought it would. Five hundred miles of torture. At the mid point of the race all my favorites were in the top five or six spots. Then Ed Carpenter and his teammate collided together and it was all down hill except for Tony Kanaan who came in second and Juan Pablo Montoya who came in fourth. Leaving only Takuma Sato of my favorites who ended up in 18th after running in first for many laps.

The winner was Graham Rahal who had is first win in a 124 races. He has to be a happy camper. Second went to Tony Kanaan and third went to Marco Andretti who also has to be very happy.

FORMULA E IN ENGLAND - RACE ONE

To the sound of whirling sewing machines Formula E was run on one of the tightest tracks I have seen in a long time. Sebastien Buemi came in first which now makes him a championship contender. It appears to be up for grabs. Second went to Jerome d'Ambrosio and third to Jean-Eric Vergne. Race Two will be the deciding factor for this series which will be all over tomorrow. It will be good to have the last race decide who the champion is.

SPECIAL OF THE WEEK

1968 PLYMOUTH GTX 440

For sale is a 1968 Plymouth GTX 440. It has 156,000 original miles on the car. It is in great condition. Has always been stored indoors in California. The original paint is in really good condition for its age. The original numbers matching 440 motor was removed at 115,000 miles and set aside. That motor will come with the car. The motor that is in the car now is a custom built 383. The car currently has an aftermarket radiator, air cleaner, wheels, and exhaust system. I have the original radiator, air cleaner and exhaust headers and they will also come with the car. The wheels are Crager S/S wheels. There is no major damage to the car and there has been no major accidents. The one body blemish is on the rear of the deck lid where my Aunt backed into another car in a parking lot back in the mid 70's and put a small dent in the deck lid and the trim piece. I have the build sheet from inside the rear seat as well as hand written records of every little bit of maintenance , adjustment, and repair done to this car since 1969. The 2nd owner (my uncle) that started the records in 69' with 13,000 miles on the car was a aerospace engineer who took extremely good care of this car until he passed away a few years back. He even kept records of how much and when he fueled the car.

FORMULA ONE IN AUSTRIA

LEWIS HAMILTON - 2nd, NICO ROSBERG - 1st, FELIPE MASSA - 3rd

I love this track. I wish they had more tracks like it. The first two spots are a given this season. Either Hamilton / Rosberg or like today Rosberg / Hamilton with a one-two finish. I am very happy to have Felipe Massa finish in third place. After Rosberg and Hamilton the rest of the race is the race.

Other than Massa my other race favorite Nico Hulkenberg came in 6th.

CONGRATS TO NICO

Hooray! My hat is off to Nico Hulkenberg for winning the 24 hour Le Mans race in France. He is a regular Formula One driver for Force India. The last couple of years he has had a hard time getting a seat in Formula One. Everyone knows that he is good and he is my favorite under dog. Will he make the switch permanent? We will see.

INDYCAR IN CANADA

The race in Toronto is almost always good and today didn't let anybody down. A little wet here and there, but a race to keep you on the edge of your seat. Collecting his second win of the season, Josef Newgarden, came in first. His teammate, Luca Filippi, came is second. I was really happy about that because I really like this Carpenter-Hartman-Fisher team. Third spot went to Helio Castroneves.

Other drivers that I like to watch ended up in the top ten:

5. Sebastien Bourdais
6. Tony Kanaan
7. Juan Pablo Montoya
10.Takumo Sato

FORMULA ONE IN CANADA

The race itself did not rock my world. Too bad because Canada is usually on the top of my list of tracks. The Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg led the field which has become the usual this season. Third place went to Valtteri Bottas.

It should be noted that the excellent driving of Sebastian Vettel and Felipi Massa brought them from 18th and 19th at the start to a finish of 5th and 6th. Great driving for those two.

INDYCAR IN TEXAS

Scott Dixon's claim to fame today was as the winner of the Texas 600. A very fast paced race with no accidents. He was followed by his teammate and one of my favorites, Tony Kanaan. Helio Castroneves cam in third.

There were so many drivers that I would liked to have seen win this race:

Tony Kanaan - 2nd
Juan Pablo Montoya - 4th
Ryan Briscoe (filling in for James Hinchcliffe) - 8th
Takuma Sato - 16th
Ed Carpenter (out for mechanical reasons) - 22nd

FORMULA E IN RUSSIA

A short 35 lap race. At an American track it would take you longer to walk in from the parking lot than it would to run the race.  Winner is Nelson Piquet. Following up in second was Lucas di Grassi. Third went to Sebastien Buemi.

NOTE: AFTER THE RACE THIRD PLACE FINISHER, SEBASTIEN BUEMI, WAS BUMPED FROM THIRD TO NINTH.  THIS WAS DUE TO A PENALTY AND TAKING THIRD SPOT WENT TO NICK HEILFELD.

INDYCAR IN MICHIGAN - RACE TWO

Another race to keep you on the edge of your seat. I am very happy with the outcome of this race. Sebastian Bourdais was the winner. He is a very good driver, and four-time CHAMP Car champion, who has not had the best of luck in recent seasons. Second went to Takuma Sato who is one of my favorites. Third went to Graham Rahal who also needed it.

Juan Pablo Montoya who had been a front runner for most of the race dropped back in the last laps because of lack of fuel. He ran out right after the finish line leaving him in 10th. Tony Kanaan finished in 13th. Almost everyone was short on fuel at the end.

I wish Formula One could be as exciting as these Indycar races.
