INDYCAR IN MISSOURI

Newgarden has done it again. With only two races left in the Indycar series he may just be the champion. This race in St. Louis was very nice. They hadn't been here since 2003 and it had been recently redone by new owners. This race was a 500 miler and I am sure that they will be back here for years to come. Scot Dixon and Simon Pagenaud came in 2nd and 3rd.

Sebastian Bourdais returned from his injuries last May during the Indy 500 qualifying. He finished in 10th even though he was feeling a little nervous about his return. The rest of my favorites didn't fare so well. Ed Carpenter's team had Hildebrand in the wall on lap 100 and likewise for Carpenter on lap 5. Tony Kanaan hit the wall on the pace lap no less, but went back in until lap 168. Takuma Sato got sucked up in the Carpenter crash on lap 5.

Speaking of Takuma Sato, he will be jumping teams at the end of the season. He is going the |Bobby Rahal / David Letterman team as a second car. This will probably be good since he and Rahal have some good history together. There will probably be a flood of jumping since all contracts are up this year.
