ROBERT WICKENS UPDATE

You always know that it is bad when the TV cameras move away from an accident. When one car is torn to pieces and they focus on all the other cars involved. Robert Wickens has been a new favorite of mine since the started this season. He had been having good luck racing in Europe and decided that he would take the opportunity to race in Indycar. It was just a matter of time before he started winning on a regular basis. After his medical flight to the hospital it took them hours to report his injuries. Which may get worse as time goes on. At the moment he is suffering broken legs, broken right arm, bruised lungs and spinal injuries. One thing I know about these drivers is that the work very hard to mend and be back to racing as soon as possible. Of course, it is true, that some never get repaired well enough to return. I have a lot of faith in this guy and if there is any way to survive and return he will do it. There are many drivers racing right now that have survived horrific injuries and they will be by his side until he recovers. He will be in my thoughts throughout the long hard road in front of him.
