1951 NASH

1951 Nash Ambassador Airflyte Custom Sedan, Beautifully restored with original inline 235 cu. in. 115 HP 6 cylinder overhead valve engine and 4 speed Hydramatic transmission, model 5178, body C5457, VIN: RC 10030 (assembled in El Segundo, CA) with 77,500 original miles. This car has been lovingly brought back to life by Gerald Johnson of North Dakota, with new upholstery and headliner, paint, rebuilt automatic transmission, new windshield and side glass, window gaskets, generator, voltage regulator, radiator core, weather stripping, water pump, master cylinder and wheel cylinders, shocks, exhaust, and tires all performed in 2001-03. The body was sanded to bare metal and is painted in a Ford Bronze/red clearcoat metallic from 2000. Horn, directional signals, lights, instrument gauges all work and original clock and AM radio are present but not connected. Includes owner’s and shop manuals, Nash fender cover and bumper jack. Since I have owned the car (bought in March 2007 with 72K miles) I have had the fuel pump rebuilt for modern gas by Kanter Bros., relined all 8 brake shoes, replaced the rear main seal and the oil pan gasket with Neoprene. The car is an amazing survivor, having been bought new in Chino, CA and driven over 70K miles without any accidents or even any dings until 1971 when it went into the original owner’s son’s barn in North Dakota where it stayed dry and rust free until its resurrection in 2001.
