CHRISTMAS GIFT #2

An interesting newsletter that comes out every Thursday. Great photos, historical events, selected auction results, sports car races and a pleasure to read. Best explained by the 2013 year end editorial by the publisher Jamie Doyle. The current newsletter can be viewed at:

What a year it has been. With anniversary celebrations galore, auction records broken left and right, and fantastic racing held at venues across the globe, 2013 is one for the books. The end of this remarkable year also leaves us immensely thankful for your continued support, and as always we welcome your comments and feedback that help to improve your experience on Sports Car Digest.
This will be our final newsletter for 2013, but you can count on us being right back in your inbox as soon as the calendar rolls over to another exciting year in the car world.

This week, we have Julien Mahiels’ behind the scenes gallery from one of 2013’s undisputed highlights, the Goodwood Revival. At Goodwood, even just the scenes in the paddock are almost as exciting as the racing itself, and this gallery certainly shows that. From Auction Editor Rick Carey, meanwhile, we have not one but two thorough reports, one from the Bonhams sale at the Simeone Automotive Museum, and one from the Mecum fall sale in Kansas City.

Of course, we’re naturally looking ahead to next year as well, and it’s clear that people will be going mad for all things Maserati. The Italian icon celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2014, and Maserati will be featured at both the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. We can hardly wait.

We also have results from the Leake Dallas sale, exciting consignments for RM’s upcoming Arizona sale, information from the Cavallino Classic, and a fascinating profile of the Blitzen Benz’s record-breaking run at Brooklands almost exactly 100 years ago.

Most importantly, though, we want to thank you again for a great 2013. Happy Holidays and safe travels from Sports Car Digest.
