ONE DOWN AND ONE TO GO FOR DANICA

I am not a big fan of NASCAR, but I did watch the Daytona 500 today. I watched it for two historic reasons...1) the swan song of Danica Patrick who has been the most successful female driver in their series....2) the maiden voyage (so to speak) of Darrell Wallace driving Richard Petty's number 43. So, unfortunately for Danica she got involved in a crash on lap 102 and it can be seen in the video below along with the short post-accident interview. She is in the "Go, Daddy" green car.
As for Darrell Wallace, he is the first full-time black driver since 1971. I have been surprised that there haven't been more black drivers since the success of Lewis Hamilton in Formula One. Maybe that will happen after he is around for a while. Richard Petty seems to be very happy with him and he will be driving the iconic #43. I couldn't be happier for him because today in the always hard Daytona 500 he finished in second place. As in right behind the winner. The winner was Austin Dillon in another iconic number....#3.
THEY CALL HIM "BUBBA"
