FORMULA ONE IN AZERBAIJAN

 RAIKKONEN, 2ND - HAMILTON, 1ST - PEREZ, 3RD

I never would have guessed the outcome of this race. First off, I love this street track. Always a lot of action and today didn't disappoint. Hamilton, who hasn't won a race this season, came in first under a comedy of errors. Hamilton had no hope of winning until his leading teammate ran over something on the track giving him a flat tire. Kimi Raikkonen came in second when his teammate, who had also been in the lead for 30 laps, ran wide and then dropped back on cold tires. Sergio Perez put his foot to the floor and came in third. Unfortunately, he may not be able to keep this spot due to an infraction of the rules....always the rules.

Hulkenberg was having a great day considering he got docked 5 spots for changing his transmission. Magnussen, for Haas, ended in 13th and his teammate wrecked on lap 42 under the 'safety car.' That doesn't happen very often. Speaking of things that don't happen often....Red Bull, ala Vettel and Webber, they had the mishap of Verstappen and Ricciardo running into each other.

There was a high rate of attrition including Bottas, Grosjean, Verstappen, Ricciardo, Hulkenberg, Ocon and Sirotken.
