INDYCAR IN ARIZONA

After a seven lap shoot out, which Indycar is becoming famous for, the winning slot goes to Josef Newgarden. Followed 2.9 seconds later by Robert Wickens, who is quite the rookie, with his foot to the floor. He led the race a couple of different times for a total of 45 laps. Third went to Alexander Rossi, who in his day was quite the rookie, too, not that long ago.

Favorites, Tony Kanaan and Takuma Sato, came in 8th and 11th. Ed Carpenter's team finished with Carpenter in 7th and Pigot in 14th.

This track is one of the few oval tracks that Indycar is still using. A small, tight, one-miler. The lap record of 194.975 MPH is held by Helio Castroneves from 2017.
