FORMULA ONE IN BAHRAIN

So, it is Bahrain and the race couldn't be run without some off-beat action. Every year they have some problem with the citizens of the country protesting the race. Back about eight years ago they even cancelled the race for one season. Bombings, vandalism, kidnapping a race team...Bernie Eccelstone always tried to keep Formula One away from any political problems. Not always successful. This year they had a fire in the Grandstands which was blamed on a electrical short. That may be true, but considering the past one could easily doubt that. It is Bahrain.

Sebastian Vettel is a happy camper after winning his 200th race anniversary and it is all so his second win of the season. Bottas was right on his tail at just .69 seconds behind. Lewis Hamilton, his teammate finishing in third.

Nico Hulkenberg had a great race finishing 6th. To me though, the driver of the day, was Pierre Gasly who got points for the first time for Toro Rosso and a beautiful 4th place. The Haas Team ended up with Magnussen in 5th and Grosjean in 15th. Kimi Riakkonen was having a very good race when his pit crew wave him out before they were ready.and he ran over one of the crew. In fact his was waved out before they even changed the tire. With 3 second tire changes I am surprised this doesn't happen more often.
